I was in the mood to copy a renaissance piece of art today... so I took some printer paper and drew this. Its not exactly how I wanted it to turn out, but its no so bad I guess. I tend to like my drawings better if I don't look at it for a while... maybe a few months or so. Who knows why...

Anyways... can you guess where I stole the character and composition from?

I was looking through some old computer files and found some art that I did many moons ago. I wish I can say that I've gotten better, but that just isn't true. I haven't painted in years and I haven't sculpt in a very long time. I really need to get back into it...

My first post are of some pretty recent drawings I made for my pal, Jamie Sox. He is a brewer, he makes some of the best beers I have ever tasted. His label is "JR Brewing", based out of Columbia/West Columbia/Lexington, SC. We all grew up together... its just one big family.

This one was created for JR Brewing's Carolina Blonde. Its for all the folks that
love a lager (?) taste and pretty Southern Blonde girls... don't we all?
This was created for JR Brewing's March Hare. My aim was to take the traditional "March Hare" character and make it  a bit more sexy for us grown-ups.

"Sweet Southern Blonde" was created for JR Brewing's booth at a beer trade show. I hear that it was a hit with the folks!
"Sweet Southern Blonde" detail and having some fun with the beer label!

Hello!

Welcome to my blog page. Since everyone has a blog nowadays, I have decided to jump on the bandwagon and create one myself.

My earliest memories have been that I have always loved making art. Though this never materialized into a career, its definitely something I love to do. I have never taken my artwork seriously enough to pursue a career, but I have always liked to share my art. Aside from family, friends, my dog, golf and college football (Go Gamecocks!), its definitely one of my favorite things in life.

If you like what you see or if you have any comments or critiques, please feel free to let me know... I would love to hear from you.

Thanks!

David
